Credit where credit is due…
Just in case you didn't notice in the last update's
pics, I should tell you how white OceanPlanet's bottom
is:
See the rainbow over the
hills behind! This photo doesn't really do our Epaint ZO-HP bottom justice...we are
floating low, with a lot of seawater in the ballast tanks (for making fresh
water with our Spectra
Watermachine). Anyway, after being in tough Caribbean conditions all
winter with NO cleaning, OP's bottom had almost nothing on it!
Haven't had much time to do as much as I'd like on
the boat, as another boat job here has required my full attention.
Thankfully the bottom hasn't needed anything so far other then cleaning off some
harbor scum. When you don't want to spend endless hours doing things a second
time, it's important to use the right stuff to start with. Big thanks to
Epaint!!
Ran into early OceanPlanet supporter Karsten Mau,
who happened to be here in Antigua on his nice Santa Cruz 52. He
needed a rigging check so in the morning before I left for work, I went
up. Along the way I got the shot below. The next day he sailed off
to Germany.
If you look carefully you can see the keel &
bulb...the harbor is a little murky and the bulb is over 14 feet
down.
Don't forget, we need crew for the Run to
Maine! Hurricane season officially starts on June 1st...need to skedadle
before that. Drop me a note.
Flashback...here's one of our Epaint spinnakers,
back in 2006:
Headed home to Maine on Saturday for about a week,
then back to OP. Hopefully I'll be able to follow some of the Giro di
Italia (a big bike race, 2nd in stature only to the Tour de
France.! |
